While Santa may still be double-checking his list, the College Football Playoff (CFP) Selection Committee finalized theirs on Sunday, December 4th. This embarks the most magical time of the year for college football fans, and Tailgate Social will be the best place to catch the action. While there aren’t many surprises for the final four teams to contend for the National Championship, the outstanding records of Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and TCU will at least make for some top-notch semifinal games. Read up on the odds and predictions, and make sure to set your own game plan in motion for watching the College Football Playoffs at Tailgate Social!

Peach Bowl: Georgia vs. Ohio State

It’s highly appropriate that the University of Georgia will play in the Peach Bowl in their home state, especially since they’ve had one pretty peach of a season. The Bulldogs went 13-0 and finished as the Number One Seed. While Ohio State may have more total playoff appearances out of anyone in the Top Four, their 0-1 against Georgia in their one and only showdown to date. OSU recently lost to their rival Michigan two weeks ago whereas Georgia is the reigning National Champions who only lost once in the 2021 season. It’s a solid bet that they’ll be the first back-to-back champs since the founding of the CFP nine years ago. The Peach Bowl kicks off on New Year’s Eve at 5 PM Pacific.

Fiesta Bowl: Michigan vs. TCU

Despite also having a 13-0 season and recently beating one of the other final four teams rather recently, Ohio State, Michigan is finishing the regular season as the Number 2 seed for the second year in a row. A princess must have kissed the TCU Horned Frogs at the beginning of the season as they’re heading into the playoffs after a Cinderella story. They began the 2022 season unranked in the AP Top 25 yet finished 12-1, losing for the first time last week in overtime to Kansas State in a thriller of a Big 12 Championship Game. No Wolverines were kissed prior to their season, but Michigan still won every regular season game for the first time in school history, meaning that the TCU Horned Frogs are going to need a little bit more magic to win this fight. The Fiesta Bowl starts at 1 PM Pacific on New Year’s Eve, so make sure to get to show up ASAP to secure a seat for a solid day of college football playoffs at Tailgate Social.
