Let Tailgate Social Be Your “Wingman” This College Football Season

College Football Season Is Here and Tailgate Social Has the F-ing Trifecta for Saturdays: Football, Food, and Friends

After what feels like a long time of wandering football-less through the desert, relief is finally here! August 27th marks the kickoff of College Football Season with Week Zero, so come cheer on UNLV and the University of Nevada this Saturday at Tailgate Social. The Rebels will be taking on Idaho State Bengals from Pocatello (or Poca-hell hole for the hecklers), at 12:30 pm local, while the Wolf Pack has their sights set on stomping the New Mexico State Aggies at 7 pm. With a full stack of games slated for this Saturday, Tailgate Social starts its full-season special of 75-cent chicken wings to keep you fueled up and fired up for this marathon-not-a-race special sports day. Five different wing sauce options with one of the biggest craft beer menus in Las Vegas is a guaranteed first win of the season while you watch your team go after theirs.

UNLV

If you’re wondering what the off-season was like for the UNLV Rebels, it was basically the throwback Kanye lyrics “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.” In his third year as head coach, Marcus Arroyo reports that his team has been putting in more time than the normal grind, spending most of non-practice in the gym. With that drive and transfers from Power 5 schools adding some height and speed, UNLV aims to convert those close losses–like the L to Eastern Washington by 2 points in double overtime–from last season into W’s. Last season’s 2-10 finish seems depressing, but six of those games were lost by only one score, so there’s a definite possibility that UNLV can go from underdog to top dog this season faster than Joey Chestnut can eat hotdogs.

Nevada

If you’re a fan of the silver and blue, it’s best to forget last season and focus on the possibility that comes with the new. In the off-season, the Wolf Pack have added more than 30 players to their roster, are returning only six starters, and hired head coach Ken Wilson. These are all huge changes, but constants like running back Toa Tua on offense and defensive tackle Don Peterson offer a strong foundation on which to build. In fact, despite the team’s less than stellar reviews, Peterson was ranked #3 overall and #1 for defenders in Yahoo Sports Mountain West Top 50 for 2022. It might take a few snaps or matches for the Wolf Pack to hunt as one, but you can’t have a Cinderella Story Season if you don’t start out toward the bottom. You might start out the season ordering Fumble Rumbles off Tailgate’s drink menu, but there’s always a good chance you’ll be switching to Thirst & Goals as the season goes on.

Mountain West Conference

It’s always a good idea to size up the competition before a match, so check out the stats and predictions for the Mountain West Conference here while you size up the drink menu at Tailgate Social. It’s totally understandable how hard it is to make a top pick when there’s so much talent, like with Boise State, Utah State, and Air Force or the Philly Cheese Steak, Truffle Pasta, or a Stadium Dog at Tailgate Social. At least if you put a bet on any of the latter, your return on investment is guaranteed and just as thrilling when it turns out that you picked a winner. With a lineup like that and 75-cent chicken wings as special teams, the culinary odds are in your favor when watching College Football Saturdays at Tailgate Social
